I’m still decompressing after a really amazing week at the Eureka Leadership Institute. I will try to write more about my experience after I’ve processed it a bit. For now, suffice it to say that if you work in a California public library and are at all interested in leadership, it would be worth your while to participate in the workshops and apply to the Institute for 2009. It’s a fantastic laboratory to learn, develop and practice leadership skills, and I guarantee you will leave inspired and encouraged, with a strong orientation toward the future.
This is just a reminder to all you Californians (or other Super Tuesday state residents) to get out and vote today. In California, we have a handful of ballot initiatives/referenda in addition to the presidential primary. Here’s a tip: if the initiative is a constitutional amendment, I first ask myself whether or not the item really belongs in the State Constitution. I’ve voted against plenty of initiatives that I agree with in principle, because I don’t feel that they were appropriate additions to the Constitution. I am especially wary of any initiatives that mandate certain funding percentages or amounts in the Constitution. That’s just not the place for this stuff.
Oh, and in case you were wondering…Obama.
