I’m still decompressing after a really amazing week at the Eureka Leadership Institute. I will try to write more about my experience after I’ve processed it a bit. For now, suffice it to say that if you work in a California public library and are at all interested in leadership, it would be worth your while to participate in the workshops and apply to the Institute for 2009. It’s a fantastic laboratory to learn, develop and practice leadership skills, and I guarantee you will leave inspired and encouraged, with a strong orientation toward the future.
This Institute is really intense, and I don’t have a lot of time to write, plus I’m still processing and don’t yet know what I want to say about it. However, we had a guest speaker last night - Jennifer James - who blew my mind. I’m eager to dig into some of her writings and learn more. I will post more about her talk when I have time to synthesize it a bit. It was challenging and insightful and thoroughly entertaining - a great combination.
I found out today that I was accepted into the Eureka! Leadership Institute. Woohoo! It’s a wonderful opportunity and I’m so excited to be going. I’m not generally pessimistic, but I struggled a bit with my application and so I was trying very hard not to get my hopes up. Needless to say, I’m thrilled! I may write more about this later, but for now just wanted to share my joy.
