Lots of new developments, just in the past 24 hours or so. Calvin has started rolling over. Eric told me he’s done this a few times this week (from his back to his tummy), but I caught it for the first time this morning. By the time I got home from work he had taken it to a new level – now he flips over onto his belly almost as soon as we put him down, and has managed to go from tummy to back a couple of times, too. He’s not quite as sure of himself rolling onto his back, and is still more likely to get frustrated while he’s on his tummy than he is to roll back over, but every time we flip him onto his back he just rolls right back onto his belly – he’s pretty proud of his new skill. Today he also started rolling onto his side while he sleeps. His neck is getting really strong, too. He doesn’t yet sit up by himself, but he holds his head up so well when we put him in his Bumbo seat.  When he’s on his tummy and trying to turn back over, he brings his knees up underneath him in a way that makes it look like he’s going to start crawling. He doesn’t have the coordination to do that yet, of course, but I’m starting to wonder if we’re going to have to child-proof the house sooner rather than later. The boy does like to move.  Scary thought.

Here’s Calvin rolling over (he was too interested in the camera to roll back):

Here he is in his Bumbo drooling and playing with toys:
