Here’s Calvin watching Elmo and drinking a smoothie (check out that posture!):

And here he is tackling the climbing wall at the park:

Still working on the computer issue. Here are a couple of pics to tide you over:

Sorry for the lack of photos and video. We’re having some computer problems. Regular posting should resume soon…stay tuned!

At his 18-month checkup a couple of weeks ago, Calvin weighed in at 24 pounds, and was 33 1/2 inches tall, which puts him at 85th percentile for height and 25th for weight. He’s still on the lean side for his height, but between his activity level and the fact that he barely ate for about a month before his appointment due to teething issues, that’s not surprising. And he still has a cute little chubby belly, so “lean” is a relative term.

The height means that he can reach door handles and so on now. He can’t quite manage the knob-style handles yet, but the door into our garage has a lever style handle which he recently figured out, and he escapes out there every chance he gets. Yep, time for another round of child-proofing…

He’s still not talking much, although he says “yeah” all the time and it’s really cute. He likes to answer questions. In fact, if anyone asks a question anywhere in his vicinity he’ll answer it, whether it’s directed at him or not. He only has one answer, but it’s amazing how well you can carry on a conversation with just that one word. We’re trying to teach him other words, but we have to be careful in how we phrase things. If I ask him “can you say ‘milk’?” He’ll say “Yeah.” But he has yet to prove it!

Here are a couple of videos of him playing and goofing around.
