We cleared out most of Calvin’s room over the weekend, took out the guest bed and his toddler bed and put in a twin sized bed. I took him to Target to pick out his own bedding, and he chose the comforter with stars and rocket ships (which, we found out at bedtime, also glows in the dark. Cool!). We were a little worried that the transition was going to be rough for him because he’s a creature of habit and likes things to be a certain way. But he’s totally into his new bed and although he fell out the first night, the past two nights he’s slept all the way through the night and did not come into mom and dad’s room in the middle of the night as he has been for the past few months – woohoo!

Henrik is getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth, or up on his hands and toes just the way Calvin did at the same age. I was hoping he might be a little slower to get mobile than Calvin was, but it looks like he might be crawling right around the same time. We’ll see…

A few new photos:

Sitting practice:

Henrik is 5 months old now. We just started him on solid food and he seems to like it.

Some Calvin creations:

Birthday cake with candles – an ongoing theme in his drawings and sculptures. The yellow clay balls in the picture below are supposed to be balloons (another favorite motif).

Man on a skateboard:

Love this one – the long appendages hanging from his arms are fingers. Epic.
